It was founded in 1876 by Henry Lyon and originally known as "The Royal School of Birkenhead". The School provides education for students ranging from Nursery to Sixth Form. It is a member of The Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools and The Girls' School Association. The school prides itself on providing an inspirational, caring and stimulating environment and equipping students with the skills to lead the future.
