The school is divided into three houses – Red House, Green House and Blue House. It has a modern building, which was opened in September 2011 and includes a new sixth form centre, specialist classrooms and a sports hall. The school teaches the National Curriculum key stage 3 (Years 7 and 8) and key stage 4 (Years 9, 10 and 11) and students can choose to study for the English Baccalaureate or take non-examined subjects. The school offers a variety of extra-curricular activities as well as a good range of sports, music and drama. The school is part of the Oldham and Rochdale Teaching Alliance, which provides staff and pupils with opportunities to work together with other schools in the area.*
